Day 19

In the egg th chicken is almost fully developed. The beak has even started breaking through the inner shell. The lungs also begin to work. Finally, the yolk sac begins to enter the body cavity.

This day the chick's lungs are starting to work on its own to breath air soon. Also the beak is working through the outer membrane or outer layer of the shell, to get closer to hatching out.

On day 14 the skull becomes to harden into a bone.
