  Almost there!The lungs use the air cells to breathe fully. The embryo holds all the egg excluding the air cells.

Day 19

In the egg th chicken is almost fully developed. The beak has even started breaking through the inner shell. The lungs also begin to work. Finally, the yolk sac begins to enter the body cavity.

Day 18

This day the chick's lungs are starting to work on its own to breath air soon. Also the beak is working through the outer membrane or outer layer of the shell, to get closer to hatching out.

Day 17

Day 17!

If you're underwater and need to come up fast, you face your nose and mouth towards the air, right? Well, that's just what these chicks do on day 17. They turn their cute little beaks toward the air cells!

Day 16

The baby chick inside the egg (embryo) turns its beak toward the air hole (air cell).

The squishy white seal (chorioallantoic cavity) lines most of the inside surface of the egg shell.

Day 15

The scales, claws, and beak are getting firm and the respiratory system is developing.

Day14

Wanna know what happens to the egg on day 14?

On day 14 the skull becomes to harden into a bone.

The baby chick will turn its head to the rounder side of the egg.
