Day 18 - Chick Development Stages

Hey Kids!
Do YOU know what's happening on Day 18?

First, the Lungs begin to function. The Lungs help you breathe. If you cannot breathe, the chick cannot live. First, the chick's Beak pecks through the inner layer of the egg! This helps the lungs work better.

Fun Fact:
Did you know? By Day 18, a chick's fuzz is developed? The fuzz keeps the chick nice and warm!

The picture shows the Chick at Day 18! Can you see it's fur? Can you guess what the chicken will look like on day 19? Check back on the blog here to find out more!

Check out the Library at KCS for more information on chick development!
